Affinity Connection Adds Salvation Army of Centre County to Client Roster

November 15, 2010

State College-based Affinity Connection is pleased to announce the development of a new website for the Salvation Army of Centre County. The website includes critical features that this active non-profit needs to secure support and manage its large volunteer base. The website will be an online marketing and communication tool where donors, volunteers and the community can interact with the Salvation Army and learn about and support its mission to perform evangelical, social and charitable work to those in need.

The Salvation Army of Centre County’s Captain Chuck Niedermyer said, “We chose Affinity Connection because it is a local company and they understand the solutions we need. The Salvation Army relies on a large number of volunteers and on the financial generosity of the community. Affinity Connection brings the knowledge and resources to develop a website that will allow people to interact with our organization in meaningful ways—to sign up to volunteer or to make a donation. These are critical steps in helping us achieve our mission every single day.”

Affinity Connection CEO Greg Woodman said Affinity Connection focuses on bringing a consumer marketing skill-set to non-profit organizations, which rely on small staffs and volunteers to promote their mission and services. “We offer tools and services like database management, online giving capabilities, donation processing and volunteer recruitment to help non-profits reach their goals and allow them to focus their attention on the duties needed to adhere to their mission.” He said it’s exciting when the firm can, “expand the capacity of an organization’s staff or volunteers, and execute much-needed projects.”

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church established in London in 1865, has been supporting those in need without discrimination for 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through social services that range from providing food to the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for disabled people, outreach to the ill and elderly, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children.
