Affinity Connection Provides Salvation Army Online Portal for Volunteering
(State College, PA) — Affinity Connection of State College, Pa., just launched a new online volunteer scheduling portal for the State College Salvation Army Corps.
The Salvation Army needed a simple method for volunteer sign-up to multiple locations at multiple kettles. In addition, they desired automated confirmation and reminder emails sent as follow up on successful completion of the volunteer form.
“We have been searching for a way to manage our many great volunteers during the holidays with an easy to use website or software solution, but most options were expensive and bulky. Affinity Connection provided this web-based volunteer management solution for a fraction of the cost, but with all the capability we needed,” commented Captain Chuck Niedermyer.
The web-based portal Affinity Connection created for the Salvation Army saved the organization hundreds of dollars over comparable solutions. All data entered by volunteers is compiled into an easy to manage database with volunteer name, contact information and daily volunteer schedule. The volunteer portal is hosted with its own unique domain (http://www.centrecountybellringing.org) for ease of publicizing the capability to past and potential volunteers. The portal is also seamlessly integrated with the State College Salvation Army website (http://salvationarmystatecollege.org/).
“Our company has worked with the State College Salvation Army for nearly 2 years. The addition of this web portal for volunteers shows our commitment to providing the best technology to support management of volunteers and organized giving,” said Greg Woodman, CEO of Affinity Connection.
Affinity Connection provides non-profits and member-based organizations with affordable and efficient database management, fundraising appeals, marketing consulting, communication tools, gift processing, and process-control to help generate a higher level of member engagement and create a culture of giving for long-term success.
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The State College Salvation Army Corps is proud to be a part of that movement, serving the needs of residents within all Centre County zip codes. All families and individuals in crisis are considered and qualified for all support services.
