When a gypsy moth infestation threatened Mount Nittany, the group was able to raise more than $33,000 from supporters—allowing them to have the mountain sprayed with a pesticide aimed at eliminating the outbreak. This rapid response program was successful because the organization had done the foundation work needed to cultivate a community of givers.
