Donegal Athletic Club

Raises $1 Million in 12-Month Campaign

Using Affinity Connection’s DIY campaign support services

With the intention of supporting the Donegal School District’s new state-of-the-art athletic complex, the Donegal Athletic Club (DAC) couldn’t muster the momentum to get the campaign off the ground. Despite a dedicated group of volunteers, the million-dollar campaign was on the organization’s drawing board for two years.

That’s why DAC’s leadership team decided to partner with Affinity Connection for a DIY campaign. Our DIY model provides services, including comprehensive project management, training, coaching, volunteer support, and marketing, while volunteers make direct solicitations for pledges and gifts.

The model is built on the premise that an organization’s leadership and volunteers are better positioned to seek major commitments from fellow donors and prospects. Our staff fulfills the role of supervisor, manager, trainer, and coach to assure proper promotion, planning, timing, campaign, objectivity, and structure. Working closely with their Affinity Connection project team, volunteers identify, evaluate, and directly cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects.

Momentum for the campaign built quickly thanks to successful gift solicitations and consistent marketing for the project. In just 12 months, the campaign reached its goal of $1 Million in pledge commitments.

“Partnering with Affinity Connection brought the expertise and professionalism we needed to launch this effort, and the quick momentum we gained gave us the drive and confidence to keep charging ahead.”

-Kevin Bradley, Volunteer
